Yes, Heat Air was designed to be a compact, space saving and quiet room heater. Heat Air comes with quiet night-time mode that can be used whether you’re on a campsite or off grid.

  • Room Heating - How do I decide which Heat Air model to fit?

There is a range of Heat Air models available to fit your needs. Whether you are fitting a camper van, or a panel van, there is a model available to meet your needs. Each model is differentiated by heat output and fuel source - the larger the van, the higher the heat output can be. If you are camping off grid, a gas operated heater would be the most suitable. If you plan on using campsites, you can choose the gas and electric option, which gives an additional 3kW electric power.

  • Room Heating - Is Heat Air suitable for off grid camping?

Absolutley, all Heat Air models come with the capability to operate on gas ensuring that you have warmth and comfort in your vehicle, no matter how far off grid you are. While operating the heating on gas mode, Heat Air has the benefit of drawing a very modest current (as little as 0.6 amp) on the low gas setting.

  • Water Heating - What capacity is Expanse?

Expanse is an 8-litre tank that can heat water up to 70 degrees C.

  • Water Heating - Will Expanse provide enough hot water for a shower?

Yes, Expanse can give you enough hot water to enjoy the comfort of a warm shower. Assuming there is a Whale pump fitted, you can expect a 4 to 5 minute shower.

  • Water Heating - How fast will Expanse heat the water up?

When running on gas and electric combination, it will take 10 minutes for Expanse to heat the water. When running on mains electric it will take 18 minutes, and 23 minutes on the gas only settings. The re-heat for the second shower is even quicker, as the water is not heated from cold.

  • Water Systems - What is the Super Fil pump kit used for?

If you have our Easi Slide socket fitted with 12V connection, you can use our Whale Super Fil pump kit to fill your onboard tank from an outside water source such as a Aqua roll or Jerry Can. This means if you run out of water you don’t have the inconvenience of decamping to the nearest water tap.

  • Water Systems - Should I use a Submersible or Pressure pump?

Each pump has its own individual features and benefits that can suit your needs.

Whale Submersible pumps are easy to use, compact, quiet, inexpensive and come in 3 different options - standard flow (10.3 litres/min), premium flow(13.2 litres /min) and high flow (15.8 litres/min)

The Watermaster Onboard pump (8 litres/min) is mounted within your vehicle, providing a smooth and consistent flow, has an in-built pressure switch, runs dry without damage and has a long-life expectancy.

  • Water Systems - Which is quieter, a Submersible or a Pressure pump?

A submersible pump is a centrigual pump which uses an impeller, with only a single mechanical component moving, meaning it is very quiet when operating. A pressure pump is easy to install and is very reliable, but isn't as quiet as a submersible pump.

  • Water Systems - When should I use a Whale Pressure Switch or Surge Damper?

The Whale Pressure Switch can be used when a submersible pump is fitted in your vehicle. It detects when the water pressure drops as you open a tap and then in turn it switches the pump on. A pressure switch can be used with any tap, meaning you are not limited to what taps are available on the market.

Note: The Watermaster Pressure pump has an in-built pressure switch.
